In Kenya’s rural setup, many families are either headed by a grandma or a single mother who is the sole breadwinner of a number of children. Mainly due to some parents leaving the children with their grandparents and move to urban areas to look for employment opportunities. Others could be due to death of parents or children born out of wedlock.

These women are normally unemployed and depend on farming or manual jobs to bring up the children. As a result, the children end up with shortage of basic facilities like school supplies, food, health care and clothing.The goal of the project – #ThePigRevolvingProject – is to form women groups of 10 per cycle. Provide these women and young families with an income generating activity through rearing of pigs.
